David Caldwell was born and raised in Denison, a small town in North Texas. He grew up spending countless hours hunting and fishing in and around Lake Texoma and still looks for any opportunity to be outdoors. In his youth, David was active in many things including Boy Scouts, in which he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Not long after graduating from Denison High School, he joined the U.S. Navy where he traveled the world as an F/A -18 Hornet engine mechanic. He spent 6 years in the Navy where he met and married his wife Heather and together they have two amazing children Cassidy and Cody.
After David’s military service ended, he continued his education at a small college in Northeast Texas where he began his veterinary career by working for a small, rural mixed-animal practice. David later transferred to Texas A&M University to finish his undergraduate degree and began working for the College of Veterinary Medicine. During his time at TAMU CVM he served in a variety of roles including the Anesthesia department, Large Animal Surgery, and medical device research. Along the way he completed his Master’s Degree in Health Administration and served as Associate Director for the past 5 years. David and his family have 3 dogs – 2 black labs, Emma and Merleaux, one Chihuahua mix, Molly, and a male cat name Patches. David and his family are looking forward to making Woodland Park their home and becoming a part of the AMC family.
