brittany

There are only 4 facilities in all of Colorado that can offer the type of services Dr. Brittany brings to Teller County; WE ARE BLESSED INDEED to have such advanced diagnostics and treatments available to our horses in this area. Brittany Factor is an Equine Sports Medicine practitioner, and is the founder of Equine Sport Solutions (ESS). In comparison to several equine vet clinics in the Colorado Springs area, her practice’s specific focus is within equine sports medicine and physiotherapy, utilizing her advanced skill set in lameness, advanced imaging, and treatment/rehabilitation of the equine athlete. Brittany grew up in the St. Louis, Missouri area and was extensively involved with the hunter/jumper show circuit starting with the pony hunters and training up to the grand prix jumper level. Her undergraduate studies were performed at Stephens College, which included a triple major in biology, chemistry, and equine science/business management. She obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri.

After graduating, she was employed as a Equine Veterinarian by the University rotating as a house officer through medicine, surgery, and ambulatory medicine practices. There, she participated in the instruction of 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. She then accepted a position as a junior associate at Virginia Equine Imaging. This practice was chosen from several equine vet clinics as the head veterinary coordinator of the 2010 World Equestrian Games during her employment. There she acquired extensive interpretive and clinical skills in the treatment of the performance horse. Both positions provided her the opportunity to work with the Equinosis Lameness Locator, an advanced digital gait analysis system as well as conduct research in lameness and advanced imaging modalities.

Brittany has served as a team and on-site horse vet at many equestrian events that include: Young Rider Championships, Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event, Fairhill Horse Trials, Virginia Horse Trials, and the Surefire Horse Trials. Brittany has recently been contracted by The Langer Equestrian Group as the on-site horse vet for the entire 2013 hunter/jumper show season at The Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.

Brittany has been featured on HorseTales TV, providing horse vet tips for the show. You may view the segment at the following link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaUfBj_JW8g

Brittany has had a variety of experiences practicing at several equine vet clinics and is licensed to work in multiple states so that she may provide traveling show services. Please inquire for details.

Brittany enjoys competing in the National Reined Cow Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association with her horses Jac Be Light and BF Little Big Time.
